What is a sustainable ecosystem?
Plants and animals get energy from each other with minimal human intervention. For eg, Plants and animals (including humans) can consume naturally available resources such as fruits, vegetables, plant waste, animal waste, water, air, and sunlight and live successfully on the planet Earth.
However, what is not sustainable is consuming extra energy to fulfill some of the above needs and leave irreversible changes. For eg:
- Dig borewells and overutilize groundwater
- Run factories to create agriculture chemicals that pollute water, air, and soil.
- Use chemical fertilizers, pesticides, insecticides, and herbicides to soil and kill the natural ecosystem.
- Fall for marketing gimmicks and consume a hell lot of chemicals in the name of food.
- An imbalance between food supply and demand, in turn, encourages more chemical usage.
Unfortunately, a large portion of the planet Earth is following these unsustainable practices.
A side note: We are not claiming that the usage of chemicals is an absolutely bad thing. However, using chemicals without a deep understanding of how they affect the ecosystem is definitely bad. And that’s what is happening now. Mind you: deep knowledge of chemical usage is extremely difficult, time and resource-intensive.
Our Company
We started SKAI Technologies with a vision to gradually bring people to a sustainable ecosystem and reverse some of these damages made.
What and how do we do it?
Our main focus is to educate farmers and encourage the use of organic fertilizers. This should reduce a lot of damage made to the soil. Currently, the production of organic fertilizers costs more than that of chemicals. To offset this, as well as to improve food security by encouraging the new generation to lean towards agriculture we also focus on infusing relevant technologies into agriculture. These technologies include the latest embedded systems, artificial intelligence, advanced composite materials, wireless communication, etc. Many of them can be used to reduce labor effort, data-based yield enhancement, scientific approach to irrigation and nutrient supply, etc.
In essence, we do or need to do the following:
- Educate farmers about sustainable ecosystem
- Create a better input and output market for farmers
- Provide quality organic compost to farmers economically
- Produce ourselves, or procure from trusted sources
- Provide quality and economical agricultural equipments
- Create a market for organic produce
- Educate people about healthy lifestyle
